Carrot Threads
Here is another quick tip for cutting delicate carrot threads to dress up your salad or use as a playful garnish.
I have used a lemon zester and firmly scraped down the length of the carrot.
After you make the thread put them in a bowl of ice water to keep their color bright and texture crisp.
The first few swipes will have a little peel and may be a darker color.
You can easily eat those and hide the evidence.
Start with a washed, trimmed carrot and a sturdy zester.
Pressing firmly, glide the zester down the carrot from top to bottom.
As you work, put the carrot threads in a bowl of ice water.
The first few threads might be a little darker because they\’ll contain parts of the peel – you can quickly eat those so no one sees. Waste not, want not!
These carrot threads make a light and crunchy addition to any inspired salad!
Take a minute to enjoy your beautiful art while you eat!
